Cloves

 

  • Sri Lankan cloves are richer in oil than other cloves. 
  • They are a key ingredient in many recipes, including béchamel sauce, pickled vegetables, braises, stews, and chai. 
  • They are also used in cosmetics, such as perfume, soap, and toothpaste. 
  • They are used in medicine for dental applications, toothaches, and digestion difficulties. 

Black Pepper

 Sri Lankan black pepper, also known as Ceylon black pepper, is a spice that comes from the berries of the Piper nigrum plant. It is considered one of the best black peppers in the world.  

Cardamom

 Sri Lankan cardamom, also known as Ceylon cardamom, is a spice that comes from the seeds of the cardamom plant. It's a key ingredient in many dishes around the world.  

Cinnamon

 Sri Lankan cinnamon, also nown as Cinnamomum verum, is a type of true cinnamon that is native to Sri Lanka. It is considered the highest quality cinnamon in the world due to its delicate flavor and aroma, as well as its many health benefits. 

Tamarind

 Tamarind is a tropical fruit tree that is widely used in Sri Lankan cuisine. It is also used in traditional medicine and metal polish.  

Gamboge

 Ceylon Gamboge is a type of resin derived from the Gamboge tree, scientifically known as Garcinia cambogia, which is native to Sri Lanka (historically known as Ceylon). This resin has been historically used for various purposes, including in art, medicine, and as a dye.
